Thalapathy Vijay’s Film Enters the Rs 200 Crore Club in Tamil Nadu Box Office_collections; Could Beat Record
Thalapathy Vijay’s The GOAT directed by Venkat Prabhu has achieved the milestone of entering the Rs 200 crore club in Tamil Nadu. Despite receiving mixed responses from audiences, the film has continued to perform well at the box office. Currently, it is the third highest-grossing film in the state, trailing only behind Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo and Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan I. Although the film’s pace has slowed down on its 3rd Friday, it has the potential to surpass Leo and become the highest-grossing movie in the state.
The GOAT Enters The Rs 200 Crore Tamil Nadu Club; Stays In Contention To Beat Leo
Leo amassed Rs 232 crore and Ponniyin Selvan I approximately Rs 222 crore. The GOAT will need to maintain its momentum in the coming weeks to challenge Leo for the top position. Nevertheless, it can be concluded that the film has achieved a significant milestone. Despite being one of Vijay’s less hyped movies, The GOAT is still giving a tough competition to a highly anticipated film like Leo, which reflects the immense love and support the actor receives.
The GOAT Could Have Entered The Rs 500 Crore Club Had Kerala Or Andhra States Come On Board
The GOAT has performed exceptionally well in Tamil Nadu and international markets. While it received good support from the Hindi and Karnataka markets, Kerala and Andhra states did not contribute significantly. As of the end of the 3rd Friday, The GOAT has grossed just under Rs 430 crore worldwide. Although reaching the Rs 500 crore mark seems unlikely, if Kerala or Andhra states had also embraced the movie, it could have been possible.
