Ben, who shares three kids with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, understands the process of making art based on personal experiences, but that didn’t necessarily make it easier for him.
“Jen was really inspired by this experience, which is how artists do their work,” he shared. “They get inspired by their personal life. It moves you. As a writer and director, I do the same. However, I’ve always felt that things that are private are sacred and special because they are private. So, this was something of an adjustment for me.”
