Dominic West’s Candid Remarks on Cheating and Affairs
According to his own words, he was deeply in love with his wife for many years.
“I fell in love with my wife while I was in university and somehow convinced her to love me back for about three months. However, she eventually left and married someone else,” he shared in a 2015 interview with British Vogue with a self-deprecating chuckle. “But I’ve been in love with her ever since and even more so now. What working on The Affair has shown me is that I believe I have a wonderful marriage, mainly because my wife is amazing and I love her dearly, plus we have our lovely children.”
“I believe people often make the mistake of expecting too much from marriage and hoping for perfection,” he continued. “I think marriage is about two people supporting each other to live their best lives. That’s how it is with my wife and me, and that’s why it works. She never gets jealous, either. If she were in the scenes I’m in on The Affair, I would be uncomfortable.”
