Stars from The Challenge reveal why victory is more important than money
Some stars of The Challenge value victory more than the prize money.
“Pride is a powerful feeling,” reflected Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio in an interview with E! News’ Francesca Amiker. “Winning the trophy means more to me than the money.”
Although he has earned around $1.1 million from his seven victories, The Real World: Key West alum acknowledged the show’s incredible challenges. He mentioned the physical, mental, and emotional toll it takes and the element of luck needed to succeed.
Johnny emphasized the difficulty of winning the show, even before facing T.J. Lavin‘s tough finals. “Raising that trophy is one of the toughest accomplishments on Earth. Winning brings more satisfaction than money.”
