Despite Kareena Kapoor Khan being a star, the mystery-thriller only made single-digit earnings in its first week, which is disappointing compared to her previous film “Crew,” which opened with double-digit numbers at the box office.

The Hansal Mehta-directed movie received positive to mixed reviews from some audience members. However, it lacked mass appeal, leading to limited showings. Despite praise for Kareena Kapoor’s performance, the movie failed to attract audiences.
After earning Rs 5.20 crore in its first weekend, “The Buckingham Murders” added Rs 2.65 crore during the weekdays, bringing its total earnings to Rs 7.85 crore net in the Indian box office in the first week. The film faced competition from the re-release of “Tumbbad,” affecting its box office performance.
The Buckingham Murders Is a Financially Safe Project
The makers secured a good non-theatrical deal with streaming service Netflix and received a rebate from the UK Government, ensuring financial security for the project. Hansal Mehta confirmed that the film has covered its production costs, with current theater earnings as a bonus.
Kareena Kapoor Khan celebrates 25 years in the Industry, with her next release “Singham Again” scheduled for Diwali 2024.
