My Hero Academia takes place in a world where 80% of the population possesses superpowers. The primary antagonist in Japan is All For One, who can acquire and redistribute powers. After a confrontation with All Might, All For One’s body is severely damaged.
Tomura Shigaraki, a young protegé, aids him in evading death. All For One trains Shigaraki to be his successor, adding intrigue to the anime. Rather than molding him to be a carbon copy, All For One takes a more sinister route by transferring his power and will into Shigaraki’s body. This sets the stage for a power struggle between mentor and apprentice.
