Hailey Merkt, a contestant on Nick Viall‘s season of The Bachelor, passed away on July 26 after battling leukemia. She was 31.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Hailey, who fought bravely until the end,” stated a post on her Instagram shared on July 30. “Hailey faced this battle with incredible strength, grace, and selflessness. Her determination, bravery, and will to survive exceeded all expectations, and she chose to spend her final moments surrounded by loved ones, living without regrets.”
