Taylor Swift’s Dad Accused of Attacking Photographers in Sydney During Eras Tour
Accusations have surfaced against Taylor Swift’s father for assaulting an Australian photographer at a Sydney wharf following his daughter’s Eras Tour.
Authorities are currently looking into the alleged incident that occurred when Scott Swift reportedly attacked photographer Ben McDonald at Neutral Bay ferry wharf around 2:30 am on Tuesday.
Reports suggest that after Taylor and her father, also known as Papa Swift, were out celebrating her final Sydney performance, he allegedly hit Mr. McDonald on the left side of his face.
An NSW Police spokesperson confirmed the incident, stating, “The younger man reported the incident and inquiries are now underway by officers attached to North Shore Police Area Command.”
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter, as reported by Daily Mail Australia.
The incident allegedly occurred when the father-daughter duo disembarked a luxury yacht at the wharf after spending the night in Homebush, with Mr. Swift reportedly charging at the 51-year-old photographer.
Mr. McDonald, the CEO of Matrix Media Group, described the incident as unprecedented in his 23-year career, attributing Mr. Swift’s actions to a perceived need to defend his daughter.
Mr. McDonald, though not seriously injured, reported feeling soreness on his face but did not require medical attention following the incident.
Throughout Taylor’s Eras Tour, Mr. Swift has been a supportive presence, even distributing sandwiches to fans during a Sydney show, showing his generosity and dedication to his daughter’s fans.
Prior to Taylor’s Melbourne show, Mr. Swift distributed VIP passes to fans with restricted view tickets, ensuring that dedicated fans had a better opportunity to see their idol.
