Terrorist Attack Plot Forces Cancellation of Taylor Swift’s Austria Concerts
Swift’s upcoming shows at Ernst Happel Stadium have been canceled, as announced by event organizers Barracuda Music shortly after authorities confirmed the arrests. Her website has started issuing refunds to ticketholders.
E! News has contacted Swift’s representatives regarding the arrests and cancellation but has not received a response yet.
The recent arrest occurred shortly after an individual was arrested prior to Swift’s concert in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, for making threats against Swift and her boyfriend Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, both 34 years old.
According to the Associated Press, a 34-year-old man who had purchased a ticket for the Miss Americana star’s July 17 concert was arrested at the Veltins-Arena based on information from event organizers.
While Swift did not publicly address the previous arrest, she has previously emphasized the precautions taken to ensure the safety of her shows, fans, and loved ones. She considers any violence at her shows as her “biggest fear” following incidents like the Ariana Grande concert bombing and the shooting at the Route 91 Harvest music festival in 2017.
