Taylor Swift astounds fans with unexpected double mash-up during third Sydney show
Taylor Swift likes to keep us in suspense during her “surprise song” section, which she succeeds with her continuous mash-ups.
During her Sunday, February 25 concert in Sydney, Swift, 34, performed two mash-ups. She first combined “Is It Over Now”, a 1989 (Taylor version) vault track, along with “I Wish You Should,” another song from 1989which she played on her acoustic guitar.
Swift, wearing a flowing yellow dress, then headed to her piano for her next crush. She performed a rendition of Speak Nowis “Haunted” and Folklore“Exile”. (While “Exile” was originally recorded as a duet with Bon Iver, Swift sang solo on Sunday.)
Swift is in the middle of a four-show run at Sydney’s Accor Stadium, during which she has performed mash-ups at each concert.
Her first concert, Friday, February 23, included a rendition of “White Horse” and “Coney Island,” with which she sang along. Eras opener Sabrina Charpentier. She chose the Intrepid-song of the era because it was “very important” to Carpenter, 24, when she was growing up.
The following night, Saturday, February 24, Swift performed her first double mash-up. The 14-time Grammy winner sang a hybrid of “Should’ve Said No” and “You’re Not Sorry,” as well as “Peace” and “New Year’s Day.”

Swift has been touring since March 2023, alternating two songs in the acoustic section of her setlist. She changes the songs she will play depending on each audience.
“I want to be as creative as possible with how the acoustic set evolves and I don’t want to limit anything or say, ‘Oh, if I played this song, I can’t play it again,’” Swift said during her speech. Concert on February 18 in Melbourne. “So from now on I don’t want to remove any paint colors from the paint box [or] tools out of the toolbox.
She added: “I want to be able to play songs more than once if I want to and I want to be able to make changes to the songs. Does this seem OK to you?
During her US concerts in 2023, Swift made it clear that she did not intend to rehearse songs unless she messed up the lyrics. However, she cautioned Midnights ballads, released in 2922, so she could continue to add them to the setlist.
Swift then decided to reset her 2024 show catalog, meaning all options were on the table again when she brought The tour of eras overseas.
