Taylor Swift Unveils Special Edition of New Album Featuring ‘Black Dog’
Taylor Swift has revealed a third and final limited special edition of her upcoming album “The Tortured Poets Department,” featuring a bonus track titled “The Black Dog.”
The announcement was made during a secret songs segment at Swift’s show in Singapore.
The title “The Black Dog” carries significance for fans familiar with its association with depression and melancholy, dating back to Samuel Johnson in the 1700s and popularized by Winston Churchill in the 20th century.
While details about the song are scarce, Swift teased a lyric snippet, “Old habits die screaming…,” on social media.
The cover art for this edition features Swift upright and entangled in her own arms, photographed by Beth Garrabant.
The vinyl edition comes in black.
This special edition will only be available on Swift’s website until Wednesday at 2 p.m.
Speculation about a reissue of “Reputation (Taylor’s Edition)” was put to rest with the announcement of “The Black Dog” track. Previous limited editions of the album featured bonus tracks “The Albatross” and “The Bolter,” while a deluxe edition includes “The Manuscript.”
All physical editions of “The Tortured Poets Department” will be released on April 19.
