Critics Mock Taylor Swift’s Album Logo
Taylor Swift made waves at the Grammy Awards on Sunday with the surprise announcement that she would be releasing a new album. However, she is now facing mockery over the logo of her new album.
The pop superstar swept the Grammys with her historic fourth win for Album of the Year for her album Midnights. She also took home the award for Best Pop Vocal Album, marking her 13th Grammy win. During her acceptance speech, she revealed that she had secretly been recording a new album, set to be released in April.
“I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I have been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand-new album comes out April 19. It’s called The Tortured Poets Department,” Swift announced.
Immediately after her announcement, Swift’s social media accounts shared details about the upcoming album, including its cover art and logo. However, public opinion on the logo has been divided.
The logo consists of the letters “TTPD” linked together, prompting comparisons and mockery from people online. Many took to social media to share their thoughts and jokes about the logo.
Despite the mixed reactions, some fans expressed their love for the simplistic design and speculated on the album’s potential impact on Swift’s career.
The album announcement came after Swift changed her social media profile pictures to black and white, causing fans to anticipate the release of her rerecorded album Reputation (Taylor’s Version).
The Tortured Poets Department is available for pre-order in various formats, including limited-edition vinyl, cassettes, and CDs. The limited-edition versions of the album include a bonus song and collectible book-bound jacket with handwritten lyrics and photos.
