“When you think about mayonnaise, it’s typically used to add moisture. It doesn’t really contribute much flavor,” Fieri explains. “But I wanted more from mayonnaise,” leading to the birth of his renowned Donkey Sauce. His vision was to create a sauce that enhances dishes like burgers, sandwiches, and dips. And thus, the inspiration for his entire sauce collection emerged.
The versatility of these sauces is limitless. Whether used as a marinade, dipping sauce, or to enhance a burger bun, they can transform any dish. Surprisingly, vegetables also shine with these sauces. Fieri recommends cutting up veggies, lightly seasoning with olive oil, salt, and pepper, roasting them at 425 degrees on a cookie rack (his secret for crispy veggies), and then tossing them with the sauce of your choice.
