Warner Bros. has released a trailer for Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story, providing fans and family of the late DC legend an opportunity to relive the superstar’s journey.
The documentary delves into Reeve’s personal experiences, showcasing his transformation from an iconic superhero on screen to a real-life hero.
The emotional trailer includes interviews with Reeve’s family, including his children Matthew, Alexandra, and Will, and late wife Dana Reeve, who tragically passed away in 2006 from lung cancer.
Close friends like Glenn Close and Susan Sarandon also share their thoughts on Christopher Reeve, highlighting the impact he made both on and off screen.
The trailer depicts some of Reeve’s happiest moments, surrounded by fans and playing ice hockey, before showing the life-changing accident in 1995 that left him paralyzed from the neck down.
Viewers witness the aftermath of the accident, with Reeve’s loved ones helping him into a hospital bed.
In a poignant moment, Reeve is heard in a voiceover reflecting on his struggles and his determination to continue fighting for disability rights and spinal cord injury research with his wife Dana through the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation.
Directed by Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui, Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story will premiere in selected theaters on September 21, with a special encore screening on Reeve’s birthday, September 25.
