Suki Waterhouse finally speaks out on her split from Bradley Cooper in a rare comment
Suki Waterhouse had a difficult time finding the positive side after her split with Bradley Cooper.
The Daisy Jones and the Six star shared that she believed she would never recover from their three-year relationship that ended in 2015.
“I can say that I’m quite strong now,” Suki told British Vogue for its August issue, “but when something very public happens to you, and the story behind it is dark and difficult, and you’re not actually doing well, and you can’t explain yourself to the world, that’s incredibly isolating and disorienting.”
She continued, “It probably took me a decade to figure myself out and finally be able to expand my life.”
Music became her outlet. Suki channeled her heartbreak into her song “Brutally,” which she recorded in 2016 and featured on her 2022 EP Milk Teeth.
“Your 20s can be quite brutal,” the 34-year-old expressed. “The love I experienced [then] was always superficial, and I believe that when you’re only loved in that way, you’re only being punished.”
