Director Amar Kaushik on Shraddha Kapoor’s limited screen time in Stree 2: ‘The way she made an entry…’
Stree 2, the sequel to the 2018 movie Stree, is currently creating a buzz at the box office. Starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, the film has garnered highly positive reviews from the audience. The actress’ impactful entry sequence was particularly praised by the viewers. Director Amar Kaushik recently shared insights about Shraddha’s limited screen time, mentioning that her entry wouldn’t have had such an impact otherwise.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Amar Kaushik addressed complaints about Shraddha Kapoor’s reduced screen time in Stree 2. He explained, “Some people even complained that Shraddha Kapoor has less screen time. But if Shraddha had more screen time, her impactful entry wouldn’t have been possible.”
Kaushik also emphasized on the importance of the script when it comes to allocating screen space to actors like Aparshakti Khurana. He stated, “We write what is required,” and mentioned that they didn’t consider actors feeling bad about the length of their roles.
In Stree 2, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao reprise their roles, with Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi impressing the audience with their performances. Directed by Amar Kaushik and written by Niren Bhatt, the film is produced by Dinesh Vijan and Jyoti Deshpande.
The storyline of the movie revisits the town of Chanderi, which is haunted by a new monster named Sarkata. As Vicky and his friends, including Shraddha’s character, try to save the town once again, the mystery of her background unfolds.
During a recent interview at AJIO presents Pinkvilla’s Masterclass, Shraddha Kapoor revealed her approach to choosing films. She emphasized the importance of being part of films that truly excite her and the audience. She also acknowledged the audience’s expectations regarding the kind of films and characters she portrays.
Shraddha expressed her belief in the audience’s love and mentioned that their entertainment is her priority. Stree 2 features cameos by Varun Dhawan and Tamannaah Bhatia, with popular songs like Khoobsurat, Aaj Ki Raat, Aayi Nai, and Tumhare Hi Rahenge Hum.
