Stree 2: Abhishek Banerjee expresses his views on Shraddha Kapoor and Aparshakti Khurana’s limited screen time; ‘Unko laalach ho raha hai’

Actor Abhishek Banerjee is currently basking in the success of his recent film Stree 2, co-starring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana. While the movie has been well-received by fans and critics alike, some have expressed disappointment that Shraddha and Aparshakti had limited screen time in director Amar Kaushik’s film. Abhishek has addressed this feedback by suggesting that those wanting to see more of them might be driven by greed.

In a recent interview with Indian Express, the actor from The Vedaa shared that he personally did not share these concerns. He remarked, “This means that the work was good and the audience simply wants more of it, they are greedy for it.” He further emphasized that those feeling Shraddha and Aparshakti were underutilized likely felt so because of their exceptional performances.

Amar Kaushik, the director, also addressed the issue in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, acknowledging some viewers wanted more of Shraddha Kapoor. However, he explained that her limited screen time was necessary to maximize the impact of her character’s entry.

Despite the buzz surrounding a potential third installment of Stree, Abhishek Banerjee mentioned in the interview that the development of the next film might take some time, but not as long as between the first and second films. He assured fans that Stree 3 would not take six years to materialize, revealing that parts of the script are already in progress. He described it as an epic saga and expressed his eagerness to return to the set.

Following the success of Stree 2, reports from Pinkvilla indicate that the film has amassed a net total of Rs 344.50 crore at the Indian box office in just 10 days. With its strong performance and current trends, the film is expected to continue its impressive run on the second Sunday (August 25) and benefit from the Janmashtami holiday on Monday (August 26), potentially propelling it into the esteemed Rs 400 crore club.
