Snoop Dogg Performs “Drop It Like It’s Hot” at Olympics Closing Ceremony
Snoop Dogg recently added another highlight to his Olympics resume by performing at the Closing Ceremony.
After captivating audiences in Paris during the 2024 Olympics as an NBC Olympics Special Correspondent, the rapper returned to California to help transition the Games to Los Angeles for 2028 on Aug. 11. The handoff began with H.E.R. singing the National Anthem, followed by Simone Biles and L.A. Mayor Karen Bass handling the Olympic flag. Tom Cruise then swooped in, seized the flag, and flew it to Hollywood.
On the vibrant Venice Beach stage, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Billie Eilish delivered electrifying performances before Snoop took the stage for a two-song set, starting off with his hit “Drop It Like It’s Hot.”
A surprise appearance by Dr. Dre as Snoop interacted with the crowd marked the end of the handoff segment, where the duo performed “The Next Episode”—a perfect choice to welcome the Olympics to L.A.
