“I am absolutely devastated about the passing of my amazing friend, Liam,” Niall expressed in a heartfelt Instagram post. “It just doesn’t feel real. Liam had an infectious energy for life and a deep passion for his work. He always lit up every room and made everyone feel happy and secure.”
The singer of “Slow Hands” went on to reminisce about the time he spent singing alongside Liam in One Direction.
“All the memories we shared over the years, even the simplest moments that made us laugh, keep flooding back to me amidst the sorrow,” Niall continued. “We lived out our wildest dreams together, and I will always treasure every moment we had. Our bond and friendship were truly special.”
Niall, who recently had Liam and his girlfriend Kate Cassidy as guests at his concert in Buenos Aires, also shared his feelings about seeing his friend for the last time.
“I am grateful that I had the chance to see him not long ago,” Niall wrote. “Little did I know that our goodbye that evening would be our last. It’s truly heartbreaking. My love and condolences go out to Geoff, Karen, Ruth, Nicola, and of course his son Bear. Thank you for everything, Payno. Love you, brother.”
