Shibani Akhtar attributes the upbringing of her open-minded daughters to Farhan Akhtar and his ex-wife Adhuna Bhabani; ‘They are not your typical teenage girls’
Shibani Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar tied the knot in 2022, after dating for three years, sparking a buzz online. Despite their current state of marital bliss, things weren’t as smooth in the initial days of their marriage. The couple sought therapy shortly after exchanging vows, but eventually, they found their rhythm, and the model-actress seamlessly integrated into the Akhtar family. In a recent interview, she acknowledged Farhan’s ex-wife, Adhuna Bhabani, for raising their daughters Shakya and Akira to be open-minded.
During a conversation with Rhea Chakraborty on her podcast Chapter 2, Shibani praised the Akhtar family for their progressive mindset and inclusive nature. She expressed that their welcoming attitude never made her feel like an outsider. Speaking about Shakya and Akira, she commended them for their thoughtfulness and understanding, attributing their smooth integration to the familial dynamics they’ve been raised in. She referred to them as an ‘extended blended family’ and highlighted their ability to navigate challenges together.
Considering herself fortunate to be a part of this renowned family, Shibani also lauded Farhan and Adhuna for instilling values of open-mindedness, understanding, and kindness in their daughters. She emphasized that their upbringing had a significant impact on the girls, who have taught her valuable lessons.
Reflecting on their early days as a married couple, the Made in Heaven actress shared a humorous anecdote about attending therapy just 24 hours after their wedding. Despite initial awkwardness and moments of silence during sessions, she acknowledged the positive impact that couple therapy had on resolving conflicts.
