Parenting Struggles: Shawn Johnson Reveals the Toughest Aspect of Raising Three Kids Under Five
Shawn Johnson East, a former Olympic gymnast who spent years balancing on a four-inch beam four feet in the air, understands what it means to face challenges.
However, even she finds it difficult to juggle parenting three kids under the age of 5. In an exclusive interview with E! News, she admitted, “I’d say the hardest part is catering to their attention need. I truly want to spend quality time with all three kids, but having to divide my time between them is a challenge.”
Shawn and her husband, Andrew East, who have been married for nearly eight years, make an effort to give individual attention to their children: daughter Drew, 4, and sons Jett, 2, and Bear, 3 months. She explained, “It’s sometimes sad because I know one child wants my attention, but I have to give it to another.”
She mentioned that she believes things will balance out over time, but they are still working on figuring out how to manage their time effectively.
