Selma Blair Provides Health Update During Multiple Sclerosis Remission
After going through a challenging experience, Blair faced a sense of unfairness as she realized that it did not immediately solve all her problems. Months later, she found herself still struggling with various issues like balance and vision. She expressed feeling disappointed with the slow progress and admitted to “judging the process.”
Attending the TIME 100 Health Summit and meeting cancer survivor Robin Roberts from Good Morning America uplifted Blair. Roberts shared her own journey, revealing that it took two years for her to feel fully recovered after a bone marrow transplant for a rare blood disorder.
Further setbacks arose when Blair discovered from a doctor in Los Angeles that her brain’s gray matter, which impacts muscle control, memory, speech, and emotions, was damaged. This revelation came as a surprise to Blair, as no other doctor had mentioned it during the numerous tests and scans she had undergone.
