Daenerys Targaryen, Mother of Dragons, became incredibly popular, with even Beyoncé praising her brilliance. Beyoncé once approached her and said, “Oh, my goodness, it’s so wonderful to meet you. I think you’re brilliant.”
Prior to the final season of Game of Thrones in 2019, Clarke opened up about suffering two aneurysms after filming the first season and undergoing brain surgery at age 24 in an essay for The New Yorker.
She expressed, “It saved my life, literally. The show, the family involved, and the character of Khaleesi all saved me in some way.”
Following the end of Daenerys’ reign on the show, Clarke has since taken on roles in Last Christmas and portrayed Nina in a West End production of Chekhov’s The Seagull.
