Sean Penn Denies Allegations of Hitting Madonna With a Baseball Bat
“While we certainly had more than one heated argument during our marriage,” the affidavit from the “Popular” singer stated, according to court files obtained by E! News at the time. “Sean has never physically assaulted me in any way, and any claims suggesting otherwise are completely false and unfounded.”
The I Am Sam star eventually settled the $10 million lawsuit after Daniels issued an apology and made a charitable donation to an organization chosen by Sean, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Even though Sean and Madonna ended their romantic relationship in 1989, he expressed his continued love for the Material Girl.
“It’s easier to rebuild a friendship post-divorce when there are no children involved,” he shared with The New York Times. “She’s someone I deeply care for.”
E! News has reached out to Madonna’s representatives for a response to Sean’s recent statements but has not received a reply yet.
