Lawyer for Sean “Diddy” Combs Provides Update on His Mental Health During Suicide Watch
Diddy Charged With Sex Trafficking & Racketeering
Following Combs’ arrest based on the sealed indictment, the indictment was unveiled on Sept. 17.
The 54-year-old was accused of racketeering conspiracy; sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; as well as transportation to engage in prostitution, as per court documents acquired by NBC News.
The indictment claimed that Combs had “abused, threatened, and coerced women and others around him to satisfy his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and hide his actions” for over a decade, with prosecutors stating that the alleged behavior commenced around 2008.
“In order to accomplish this,” the documents noted, “Combs relied on the employees, resources, and influence of the multi-faceted business empire that he led and controlled—forming a criminal enterprise whose members and associates participated in, and attempted to participate in, a range of crimes, including sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.”
According to NBC News, Combs entered a plea of not guilty and was refused bail.
“He’s going to vigorously contest this with all his strength and determination,” his lawyer Marc Agnifilo informed journalists outside the courthouse prior to the arraignment, “and with the complete confidence of his legal team.”
