Sarah Ferguson Gives Update on Royals as Kate Middleton Battles Health Issues
The royal family deserves praise for their unity in supporting Kate Middleton and King Charles III after their respective cancer diagnoses, according Sarah Ferguson.
“I believe family unity is crucial,” stated the Duchess of York in an interview with Hello! on June 3. “I admire how the royal family is there for each other and continues to move forward.”
Sarah commended Kate for her courage in sharing her health journey through a video, where she talked about undergoing preventative chemotherapy and discussing her diagnosis with her and Prince Williams‘s three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
As a mother who has faced cancer herself, the 64-year-old Sarah underwent a single mastectomy for breast cancer in 2023, followed by a skin cancer diagnosis earlier this year. She shared, “I have always raised my daughters to be honest and open, so when they asked, ‘Mummy, tell us the truth—have they removed all the cancer?’ and I could say yes, they felt safe.”
