Skiing Accident Leaves Sam Smith Unable to Walk
Sam Smith made a few promises to themselves after experiencing a serious injury.
The singer of “Unholy” recently shared that they were unable to walk for a period of time after tearing their ACL while skiing.
“I made a foolish decision to go on a black slope on the second day,” explained the 32-year-old during the July 18 episode of the Sidetracked with Annie and Nick podcast. “I had to be taken down on a stretcher. It was a nightmare.”
The ligament that “connects your bones and allows you to move and jump,” as described by the Grammy winner, “completely tore and I opted for a non-surgical approach, but I couldn’t walk on that leg for a month, and it was terrible.”
For Sam, the recovery process was not just physical.
