During the filming of the Salaam-E-Ishq song, Salman Khan advised Vedaa director Nikkhil Advani on how to direct big actors.
Filmmaker Nikkhil Advani, known for directing the recent John Abraham-starrer Vedaa, has been a significant contributor to the Hindi film industry for many years. Throughout his career, Nikkhil has collaborated with top stars such as Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Salman Khan. In a recent interview, the filmmaker shared Salman Khan’s valuable advice on directing stars, which he considers to be his “first big lesson” in the industry.
Recalling his experience working with Salman Khan during the filming of Salaam-E-Ishq in 2007, Nikkhil mentioned how Salman struggled with the dance steps while shooting a song for the film. Despite multiple retakes, Salman advised Nikkhil to alter the steps, emphasizing that they were suitable only for professional dancers.
Nikkhil quoted Salman’s advice, stating that understanding when actors are uncomfortable is essential when directing big stars. He acknowledged that not every actor can perform intricate dance steps like Vicky Kaushal or Hrithik Roshan, and this lesson was a significant eye-opener for him.
Discussing his recent film Vedaa, where he directed John Abraham, Nikkhil revealed that he now seeks John’s input on dance performances if any issues arise. Vedaa features John Abraham, Sharvari Wagh, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Abhishek Banerjee in lead roles and was released on Independence Day.
In addition to his directorial projects, Nikkhil Advani has produced several successful films like Satyameva Jayate, Airlift, Marjaavaan, and more. Apart from Salman Khan, Salaam-E-Ishq boasted a star-studded ensemble cast including Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla, and others.
