Fred Goldman, Ron Goldman’s Father, Breaks Silence Following O.J. Simpson’s Passing
O.J. Simpson Dead at 76 After Battle With Cancer
O.J. Simpson‘s passing is not mourned by the family of the late Ron Goldman.
After the news of the former NFL player’s death broke on April 11, Ron’s father Fred Goldman expressed to NBC News that it only serves as a painful reminder of the loss of Ron after all these years.
It has been almost three decades since Ron and O.J.’s ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson were tragically killed in a fatal stabbing outside her home in Brentwood, California, in June 1994.
Despite being the prime suspect in the case and facing charges for the murders of Ron and Nicole shortly after, which resulted in the infamous Ford Bronco car chase as he tried to evade arrest, O.J. was eventually acquitted in October 1995 following a highly-publicized trial.
Nevertheless, the families of Ron and Nicole pursued a civil lawsuit against the former NFL player for wrongful death. In 1997, a jury held O.J. responsible for their deaths and ordered him to pay approximately $33.5 million, as reported by Reuters.
