According to the reports, Raunak Jatin Vyas had assured Rimi Sen of significant returns on her investment of Rs 4.14 crore in his business. However, when he stopped responding to her calls, she realized she had been cheated.

In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Rimi discussed the situation and explained the delay in processing the case. She mentioned that her file was misplaced during the shifting of the Khar Police Station. As obtaining signatures from multiple senior officials for the FIR is necessary, she had to restart the process, leading to a two-year delay.

Despite her frustration over the delay, Rimi acknowledged the workload of the police department due to other responsibilities. She informed that the case has now been transferred to CID Unit no 9, under the leadership of Police Officer Daya Nayak.

“After receiving the High Court’s order, a chargesheet will be filed soon, leading to a potential arrest warrant against him. If his whereabouts are unknown, he will be declared an absconder,” she added.

When questioned about how she fell for the scam, Rimi mentioned that she trusted Raunak due to their close relationship like a family friend. Initially, she invested Rs 20 lakhs at a promised interest rate of 12% to 16%, which escalated to higher amounts following his suggestions.

Regarding Raunak’s current location, Rimi speculated that he might be abroad to avoid legal consequences. She expressed confidence in the judiciary and police, particularly praising Policeman Daya Nayak’s skills in apprehending suspects swiftly.

Despite Raunak’s family residing in Mumbai, they have been unable to repay the owed amount. Rimi emphasized that the principal amount of Rs 4.14 crore, with added interest, amounts to Rs 13-14 crore.
