Regina King Extends Heartfelt Gesture to Jimmy Kimmel Following Tragic Loss of Her Son
Jimmy Kimmel is empathizing with Regina King‘s sorrow.
During the Academy Award winner’s recent appearance on the late-night host’s own talk show following the passing of her son Ian Alexander Jr. in January 2022, there was a subtle, heartfelt moment between them.
“It’s very nice to see you,” Jimmy greeted Regina as she sat beside him during the episode aired on March 21. “How are you feeling right now?”
She replied with a smile, “Right now, I’m okay.”
Although Ian wasn’t directly mentioned during the conversation, an emotional Jimmy acknowledged, “Good, I’m happy to hear that. I know you’ve been through a lot in the past year.”
In a poignant moment, Regina reached out and held Jimmy’s hand, expressing how nice it was to see him.
Ian, who was the son of the actress and her former husband Ian Alexander Sr., passed away by suicide in January 2022, shortly after turning 26.
Throughout the recent months, the star of If Beale Street Could Talk has been open about her experience with mourning.
