Anna Faris Reveals Conditions for Reprising Her Role in Scary Movie: ‘Regina Hall Would Be My Answer’
Anna Faris has decided to reconsider her decision to not appear in 2013’s Scary Movie 5. The longtime franchise star is now open to reprising her role in a potential reboot of the series.
In a recent interview, Faris, who is currently starring in the film My Spy, expressed two conditions that would convince her to return to the Scary Movie franchise. One of these conditions is having Regina Hall back as her co-star.
Anna Faris Ready for Scary Movie Comeback
Anna Faris, 47, stated that she would be interested in reprising her role as Cindy Campbell if another Scary Movie sequel is made in the future. However, she mentioned that there are certain conditions that need to be met before she agrees to return.
When asked about these conditions, Faris joked about the need for money but also emphasized the importance of having Regina Hall back as Brenda, her best friend in the films.
Faris expressed her admiration for Regina Hall and her desire to work with her again. She also shared her excitement about the upcoming sequel, which is set to be produced by Neal H. Moritz and filmed later this year.
Faris made her breakthrough in the first Scary Movie in 2000 and last appeared in Scary Movie 4 in 2006. She opted out of Scary Movie 5, which was released in 2013.
Reasons Behind Anna Faris’ Absence in Scary Movie 5
Scary Movie 5 had to cast new actors in place of Anna Faris and Regina Hall, as the duo decided not to reprise their roles. While the exact reason behind this decision is not known, Faris hinted that she felt that she was too old for the role at the time.
In a 2019 interview, Faris mentioned that she may not have been the best fit for a franchise reboot and had not even watched the fifth installment completely.
However, Faris has since changed her perspective and expressed interest in exploring the characters of Cindy and Brenda further. Despite her initial doubts about comedy, Faris has come to appreciate the genre and the opportunities it has provided her in her career.
