Radhika Madan speaks out on nepotism: ‘They get 2-3 films to learn’
Radhikka Madan has experienced the presence of nepotism in Bollywood through her work in several movies. She believes that actors with connections in the industry have an advantage, getting multiple chances to improve their skills while outsiders like her are often removed after one mistake.
Having appeared in films like Angrezi Medium and Sarfira, Radhikka Madan began her acting career in 2018 with Pataakha. In a conversation with Shubhankar Mishra, she openly discussed the reality of nepotism in the Hindi film industry. She acknowledged its existence but pointed out the unequal opportunities for ‘star kids’ who receive more chances to learn and grow, regardless of their initial performance.
In contrast, actors without industry connections face harsh judgments and are quickly replaced if they make a mistake. Madan highlighted the pressure on outsiders to constantly prove themselves and refine their acting skills without the same forgiveness given to insider actors.
Despite recognizing the presence of nepotism in all industries, Madan expressed her acceptance of the situation in Bollywood while remaining critical of the unfair advantages given to certain individuals. She emphasized the need for fairness and equal opportunities for all actors in the film industry.
