He disclosed that he and the rest of the Fab Five—including Antoni Porowski, Jonathan Van Ness, Karamo Brown, and France—were presented with a new contract requiring a commitment to four cycles. By choosing not to sign, he believed his fellow cast members planned to do the same.
“We had assumed that if we all didn’t return, the show wouldn’t either,” he explained. “I had already made plans assuming we wouldn’t return, and I wasn’t willing to alter those. I would have had to pause multiple other projects that were already in motion. We had mentally prepared ourselves to move on—that’s why I left.”
Regarding his rumored fallout with France, whom he had unfollowed on Instagram?
“I want people to know that Tan and I—we will be fine,” he assured the magazine. “There was a situation between Tan and I, unrelated to the show. It was a personal matter that had been brewing—nothing romantic, just to clarify.”
