Don Omar opens up about his cancer diagnosis
The artist behind “Coolant” made a bold health confession on social media. On June 17, Don Omar posted on Instagram to reveal his struggle with cancer. In the post, fans could see a photo of his wristband from a medical center in Orlando, hinting at his ongoing treatment.
In the caption, he wrote, “Today I may have cancer, but tomorrow I won’t.” With a message of hope, Don Omar concluded, “Good intentions are appreciated. See you soon. #f**kcancer.”
This health update came shortly after he shared a video of performers auditioning for his upcoming tour’s second leg.
Don Omar and the Back to Reggatón Tour
Don Omar embarked on an extensive tour this spring following the release of his latest album, Forever King, in 2023. The album marked his highly anticipated comeback as the singer of “Pobre Diabla.”
The Back to Reggatón Tour began on March 7 with 20 scheduled dates, concluding on April 21 at the Kaseya Center in Miami.
A second leg of the tour is set to start on August 7 in Oakland, California, covering cities like San Diego, Portland, Tampa, and Ontario. The tour will wrap up on September 15 at the UBS Arena in Elmont, N.Y.
According to Billboard Boxscore, the comeback tour has sold 146,000 tickets in the first 14 shows, grossing $17.8 million.
