Prince William opts out of participating in the 2024 Olympics to be with Kate Middleton
Prince William continues to prioritize Kate Middleton‘s well-being.
Recently, Prince William shared why he was not present in the crowd at the 2024 Paris Olympics, explaining that he was focused on protecting his wife during her cancer treatments.
During a visit to Birtley Community Pool in Tyne and Wear on Oct. 3, the Prince of Wales expressed, “I decided, because my wife was obviously having chemo, that I didn’t want to risk bringing COVID home,” in a conversation with Olympians Adam Peaty and Tom Dean, as reported by Hello magazine.
Prince William, who has three children with Kate—Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6—assured that their absence from the event did not diminish their interest in the summer sports competition.
“We watched the entire event,” he mentioned. “We were captivated by it every day.”
