Prince William’s Presence at Funeral Amid Photo Controversy Involving Kate Middleton
Prince William is making important appearances.
Just two days after a photo of Kate Middleton on Mother’s Day in the U.K. caused a stir, the Prince of Wales attended the funeral of Thomas Kingston, the late husband of his relative Lady Gabriella, without his wife, as reported by several sources.
William joined Gabriella and her parents, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, for the private funeral on March 12 at Chapel Royal in St. James’s Palace in London, where Thomas Kingston was laid to rest.
Despite their shared loss, Queen Camila and King Charles III did not attend the funeral. Camila hosted a reception at Buckingham Palace the same day, while Charles had announced in February that he would be reducing public appearances during his cancer treatment.
William’s public appearance followed a controversial Mother’s Day photo featuring Kate and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, which was later edited and removed from photo agencies, sparking speculation among the public. Royal expert Omid Scobie highlighted concerns about the Palace’s history of misinformation and unauthorized statements on behalf of family members.
