Prince William attends 2024 BAFTAs while Kate Middleton recuperates
Prince William is making a solo appearance on the red carpet as his princess is unable to join him.
The Prince of Wales attended the 2024 BAFTA Film Awards at London’s Southbank Centre on Feb. 18 by himself to fulfill his royal duties, while his wife Kate Middleton is still recovering from her recent abdominal surgery.
For the fancy event, William opted for a navy velvet tuxedo as he walked the red carpet before heading into the venue, which honors the year’s best movies. (Oppenheimer leads the nominations with 13 nods, followed by the Emma Stone-led Poor Things with 11 nominations.) Inside the venue, he was seen conversing with Cate Blanchett and David Beckham.

In previous years, William and Kate have attended the BAFTA Film Awards together. Last year, the royal couple wore matching black-and-white outfits, with William looking dapper in a velvet tuxedo while Kate dazzled in a white Alexander McQueen gown with an asymmetrical neckline. At the time, the Duchess of Cambridge completed her stylish ensemble with long black gloves and chandelier earrings.
