Tribute Paid to Prince William and Others
The sports world has lost a legend.
Former rugby player Rob Burrow has passed away at the age of 41, as confirmed by his team.
“Rob’s brave battle against Motor Neurone Disease (MND) since his diagnosis in December 2019 has been an inspiration to the entire country,” stated the Leeds Rhinos in a message posted on their website on June 2. “He peacefully passed away at Pinderfields Hospital near his home, surrounded by his loved ones after falling ill earlier this week.”
Following Burrow’s passing – survived by his children Jackson, Maya, and Macy with his wife Lindsey – many shared their condolences, including Prince William and Kate Middleton.
“Rob Burrow, a Rugby League legend, had a heart of gold,” wrote the Prince of Wales on Instagram on June 2, who bestowed a CBE upon Burrow in January. “He taught us that ‘in a world full of challenges, we must continue to have hope.’ Catherine and I send our condolences to Lindsey, Jackson, Maya, and Macy.”
