Prince Harry has been overseeing the Invictus Games since its inception in 2014. While the Duke of Sussex closely monitors the ceremony and the planning involved in the organization, his friend Dominic Reid served as the CEO of the Invictus Games for a decade. Reid recently stepped down from his position, and Prince Harry expressed his gratitude for his leadership in a statement.
In his statement, Harry acknowledged Reid’s tireless efforts in advancing the organization’s mission to improve the lives of wounded army personnel.

On Thursday, Prince Harry released a statement thanking Reid for elevating the Invictus Games to a global platform and establishing connections with 23 nations to support injured service members. The Duke highlighted the growth of the Invictus Games over the past decade, stating, “We proudly stand as a community of 23 nations fulfilling our mission of saving and changing lives.”
He further added, “I am immensely grateful to my friend Dominic, whose dedication and leadership transformed the Invictus Games into an internationally recognized movement.”
Reid also announced his decision to step down as CEO in a separate statement, expressing his appreciation for working closely with Prince Harry to support army veterans.

Prince Harry honored at the ESPY Awards ceremony
Prince Harry received the Pat Tillman recipient honor at the ESPY Awards, where he thanked the Tillman family in his speech. He emphasized that the award belonged to the veterans and service personnel involved in the Invictus Games, not to himself.
He continued, “It is of great importance to me to highlight these allies, athletes, and their amazing families for their achievements, their spirit, and their courage.”
Meghan Markle accompanied Prince Harry to the awards ceremony.
