You never forget your first Gossip Girl.
Even though the franchise got a reboot for HBO Max in 2021, let’s face it: the original series, which debuted in 2007, still holds a special place in our hearts as the ultimate GG.
A major factor in its lasting appeal? The multitude of couples in the show, with the characters swapping partners faster than kids hyped up on birthday cake playing musical chairs. Serena (Blake Lively) was involved with both Dan (Penn Badgley) and Nate (Chace Crawford), who also had relationships with her best friend Blair (Leighton Meester). Not to mention her romance with Chuck (Ed Westwick), who was secretly seeing Vanessa (Jessica Szohr), and so on…you get the idea, and frankly, it’s a bit exhausting.
