Kate Middleton Apologizes to Regiment for Missing Pre-Trooping The Color Event
Kate Middleton expressed regret for not being able to attend the pre-trooping color ceremony. The Princess of Wales serves as the colonel of the Irish regiment performing at King Charles’ birthday celebrations. Despite undergoing cancer treatment, she could not be present to receive the salute.
The Irish guards shared Middleton’s note, where she conveyed her pride in the regiment. In response, the troop wished the princess a speedy recovery.

An Irish guard shared Middleton’s letter, in which she apologized for missing the practice session and expressed her pride in the regiment.
The letter said, “I appreciate everyone trooping this year who has been practicing for months and dedicating many hours to ensuring their uniforms and drill are immaculate.” It further stated, “Being your colonel remains a great honor, and I am very sorry that I’m unable to take the salute at this year’s Colonel’s Review.”
In the letter, Middleton also requested forgiveness from the guards and expressed hope to represent them again soon. She signed off with, “Quis separabit.”

Irish guard’s response to Kate Middleton’s letter
In response to Middleton’s message, the Irish Guards expressed their gratitude for receiving the letter and wished her a speedy recovery.
The Princess of Wales traditionally leads the trooping ceremony, but this year Lieutenant General James Bucknall took her place at the Colonel’s review of the Irish Guards on June 8.
On March 22, Kensington Palace shared a video message where Kate Middleton disclosed her cancer treatment.
