Former Playboy Playmate Holly Madison accuses Crystal Hefner of plagiarizing her book
Holly Madison is not in a playful mood towards Crystal Hefner.
The author of Down the Rabbit Hole: Curious Adventures and Cautionary Tales of a Former Playboy Bunny called out the wife of the late Playboy founder, Hugh Hefner, for mimicking her writing style in her own memoir, Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself, released in January.
“Anyone who has read my book that came out eight years ago and then read hers,” Holly said in a March 26 episode of the podcast LadyGang, “tell me the narrative voice doesn’t sound exactly the same. It annoys me to no end.”
Although the 44-year-old acknowledged there would be similarities between her 2015 bestseller and Crystal’s work, given their shared turbulent relationships with Hugh and residency in the Playboy mansion, she felt like she was “reading my own book” when reading Crystal’s story.
“She incorporates fairy tale references just like I did and uses many of the same psychological phrases and elements,” Holly added. “It’s unsettling, especially considering she used a ghostwriter. Do your own research and avoid imitation.”
