Peta Murgatroyd Announces Departure from Dancing With the Stars
Peta Murgatroyd is taking a break from dancing. Just over a month after welcoming baby boy Milan Maksim Chmerkovskiy with Maks Chmerkovskiy, Peta announced that she will not be returning to Dancing With the Stars for season 33.
“In terms of me,” she shared during an Aug. 29 Instagram Live, “Dancing With the Stars, guys, I’m sorry, it’s not this season.”
Explaining further, she added, “It’s just too soon.”
Peta first appeared on the show in 2011 as part of the dance troupe before becoming a pro dancer in season 13.
Throughout her time on the show, she has won the Mirror Ball trophy twice: with Donald Driver in season 14 and with Nyle DiMarco in season 22.
Most recently, Peta teamed up with Barry Williams for season 32, filming just 10 weeks after giving birth to Rio. Despite her excitement to return to the dance floor at that time, she has decided to take a break for now.
