Best friends from Perth meet at Taylor Swift’s London Reputation show in unlikely encounter in 2018
For most friends, the answer to “How do you two know each other?” is likely school, work, studies, or even a party.
But for Perth-based Millie Dacre and Lea Dreeser, a shared love of their musical heroine Taylor Swift literally united them while both travelling abroad.
Lea — a 25-year-old from Bonn in Germany — was attending the pop star’s second epic London show during her Reputation tour in 2018 after having also attended the previous night.
Millie —29 and born in Perth — found herself in the front pit of the same concert without a fellow Swifty to share it with.
Stumbling across each other in the crowd, the two bonded over over their shared circumstances and realized they had a few other things in common too.
“When I mentioned I was from Australia, Lea said she was coming to be an Au Pair and I assumed she was going to Sydney or Melbourne. She then said ‘I’m going to this place called Perth’,” revealed Millie.
“Flash forward a month later and I saw on her Instagram that she was in Perth, and invited her to a couple of events with my friends. We’ve been best friends since. “
Ahead of the Cruel Summer singer’s first Sydney show on Friday night, which they’ll be attending, Millie is keen to see how the stage show comes together.
