Today marks the 25th anniversary of the release of Pawan Kalyan’s Thammudu. His eldest son, Akira Nandan, was seen at the theaters in Hyderabad to watch his father’s iconic film.

Thammudu, starring Pawan Kalyan, made its comeback to the big screens after 25 years. Originally released in 1999 and directed by PA Arun Prasad, this sports action film remains a favorite among the actor’s fans.
Akira Nandan, the son of the actor-politician, was captured arriving at the theaters to witness his father’s legendary film.

Dressed in a black hoodie and denim, Akira Nandan looked as handsome as his father. Fans went wild as soon as they spotted him.
Following the 2024 general elections, Akira Nandan gained attention for meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi alongside his father, Pawan Kalyan, in Delhi. He also attended the swearing-in ceremony of Chandrababu Naidu in Vijayawada with his sister and other members of the mega family, where his father was sworn in as the deputy chief minister.
More about Thammudu
Thammudu is based on the Aamir Khan movie Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander, which was inspired by the American film Breaking Away. It was later remade in Tamil and Kannada as Badri and Yuvaraja, starring Thalapathy Vijay and Shiva Rajkumar, respectively.
Thammudu follows the story of Subhash, a spoiled college student whose life revolves around hanging out with friends and chasing girls.
When his kickboxer brother is injured by a rival, Subhash trains for a kickboxing tournament to seek revenge on his brother’s behalf.
Upcoming Projects for Pawan Kalyan
Alongside his political commitments, Pawan Kalyan is set to star in the movie OG directed by Sujeeth.
He is also expected to release the delayed project Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 – Sword vs Spirit and appear in the film Ustaad Bhagat Singh directed by Harish Shankar.
