Patrick Mahomes Speaks on Political Matters Following Trump’s Mention of Brittany
Patrick Mahomes isn’t interested in discussing politics.
Shortly after former President Donald Trump complimented the wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, Brittany Mahomes, by calling her “a big Trump fan,” Patrick was questioned about his family’s political views.
“I’ve always maintained,” he told reporters on September 11 via A to Z Sports, “I don’t want to use my position and platform to endorse any candidate or take sides in any way.”
Instead, the 28-year-old believes his role is to “encourage people to register to vote” and urge them “to conduct their own research and make the best decision for themselves and their families.”
He also thinks that the ability to make independent decisions is “what makes America so amazing.”
“I have interacted with individuals from all walks of life and diverse backgrounds,” he added. “I believe the beauty of a football locker room—and my experiences in baseball locker rooms—is that people can unite and work towards a common objective.”
