Indian para-athletes are making the nation proud at the Paris Paralympic Games 2024. On Friday, India secured four medals, including a gold, a silver, and two bronze at the ongoing tournament. Avani Lekhara won the gold in the Women’s 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 final. Bollywood celebrities like Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ayushmann Khurrana congratulated Avani on social media for her big win.
Debutant Mona Agarwal also secured bronze in the same air rifle category, while Manish Narwal won silver in the men’s event. Preethi Pal made history by winning bronze in the Women’s T25-100m event, becoming the first Indian para-athlete to do so.
Kareena Kapoor took to Instagram on August 30 to wish the Paralympic winners, Avani, Mona, Manish, and Preethi. She posted a collage of the four winners in her Instagram story, congratulating them with a message of “Huge congratulations” and heart emojis. Ayushmann Khurrana also shared pictures of the champions on his Instagram story, expressing his pride in India’s achievements.
