Panchayat’s Faisal Malik Reflects on Getting Ready to Portray Prahlad Cha’s Heartbreaking Grief: ‘He Bears His Pain with Stoic Resilience’
Faisal Malik captured the hearts of the entire country with his portrayal of grief-stricken Prahlad in Panchayat. His performance was so impactful that his sorrow became central to the storyline of the Prime Video series. In a recent interview with News18, Malik shared that his emotional performance on-screen was inspired by experiences in his own life.
Reflecting on his character, Malik said, “I was drawn to the simplicity of this character (Prahlad). I know people like him who find happiness in simple living. Grieving is a part of his life as he has endured the loss of his wife and son, yet he remains strong.” He pointed out that many of us know someone like Prahlad who has overcome great loss.
While Prahlad brought tears to viewers’ eyes, his character also brought laughter with his interactions with Pradhan Ji. Malik acknowledged the challenge of balancing emotions, stating, “Switching between crying and laughing is not easy. It takes time for an actor to get into that emotional space, as the preparation itself can be emotionally draining.”
