Actress Madelyn Cline Teases Sarah’s Relationship with Rafe in Outer Banks Season 4
The highly-anticipated beginning of Part 1 of Outer Banks Season 4 has left fans eagerly anticipating Part 2. The Pogues have shifted from a quiet life to one filled with excitement and adventure following the Elb Dorado incident. In the first portion of season 4, we witness our beloved group of friends embarking on a quest for Blackbeard’s treasure to address their financial woes. Keeping the details under wraps, the season thus far has been chock-full of unexpected twists and turns.
The evolving bond between Sarah Cameron (Madelyn Cline) and John B (Chase Stokes) is blossoming into a solid romantic relationship. However, her relationship with her brother Rafe (Drew Starkey) becomes complicated in the aftermath of their father and patriarch Ward Cameron’s (Charles Esten) tragic passing.
In a recent interview with Collider, Cline hinted at what lies ahead for her and Rafe’s dynamic in the latter half of the season. The siblings’ relationship is anything but conventional and has seen its fair share of tumultuous moments. When asked about the possibility of reconciliation, Cline remarked, “Forgiveness is tough.”
She acknowledges that deep down, her character harbors warmth towards Rafe because, after all, he’s her brother. “That’s family. She sees a glimmer of goodness in him or hopes there’s a part of him that isn’t entirely bad,” the actress remarked. Despite the strain in her family relationships, she also cherishes her newfound family—JJ (Rudy Pankow), John B (Stokes), and Kiara (Madison Bailey).
Thus far on the show, Sarah and John B have the most stable relationship. “Ours has been the longest-running, so I think it makes a lot of sense to see our relationship, at least by Season 4… We’ve been through so much,” the Vice Principals actress noted.
Reflecting on her experience working with Stokes, Cline expressed her admiration for their partnership. “It’s been incredible because we are so invested in these characters and this relationship… that’s really where it all began,” she added.
Outer Banks Season 4, Part 1, is available for streaming on Netflix.
